I know phones can make calls and text... Not sure what that last one is, but you would think that there would at least be a fun game on them as well.

I'll pass the message, but in my eyes, a phone is supposed to be primary a communication device, not something to distract from it.

But you aren't communicating the whole time with it, so when you are travelling and don't need to talk to anyone, playing a game is a good way to pass that time until you get a text or something.

Actually makes it easier to notice when someone calls you or texts you since you might not always notice when most of the time you keep it in your pocket.

When I'm traveling I'm busy looking for the right portkey. If I miss a call, I call back. Besides if I'm looking at it all the time, I might not notice someone I know, and miss an opportunity to talk to them. Sometimes I'm not even travelling alone, so I really don't see your point.

I don't use portkeys so I have no idea what you are talking about. Plus in a huge world you might not be able to see people you might know once school is over. When that happens I get bored, so I have to do something if I were to travel apart from nap.

We're different people and we do things in different ways, so you don't have to see my point but at least understand others prefer doing other things while they travel from one place to another. My thing just so happens to be gaming.

But just because I enjoy games doesn't mean I don't try and do other things. I just would like to play a game while travelling, if I did.
